This exhibit is one of three I created as contributions to the year-long celebration of Edmon Low Library's 70th anniversary celebration. "Student Culture Throughout the Past Seven Decades" explores OSU history through a student perspective — documenting the cultural shifts across campus from the inception of the Edmon Low Library.
With the overall design of the project, I wanted to put these archival images in conversation with modern-day student conventions, so I chose to present the images as physical Instagram posts framed as if Instagram was available in each decade. Each decade's feed was intentionally designed to incorporate the decade's culture and relevant figures into the feed, from the individuals liking the posts, to the stories featured at the top. Each caption was drafted to emulate the student voice at the time, including culturally-relevant slang, and imagined hashtags that could have been used at the time.
